Linda Jones Suber died Friday, March 7, 2008, in Columbia. Born December 8, 1940, in Lawtey, FL, she was the eldest daughter in an Army family and grew up on various bases throughout the U.S. and Europe. She married Walter Shell Suber, Jr. in Columbia in 1963 and started her family.
When her boys were older, she returned to work in the fashion and retail industry as co-founder of Colorworks, Inc., fashion director of both Bonwit-Teller and Rackes. She taught at Millie Lewis Modeling Agency, Midlands Technical College and was an adjunct professor at USC School of Retail. As a freelance writer, she contributed to Columbia Metropolitan Magazine, Lake Murray Magazine, Reach Out Columbia and The State newspaper. |
